Paying for your Racing with OSB is a
simple task. In order to get you the lowest possible racing fees, you
have to jump through a few hoops. Of course you can always just bring
cash to the track and race, but if you're the type that needs to budget
out your whole race season- read below to help build your strategy.
(Notes: OSB= Oregon Superbikers, PARC= Pat's Acres Racing Complex, PKA=
Portland Karting Association) ******check or cash only at Mac Track******* ******check/cash/credit card at Pats Acres******* There's basically 3 entities that you
need to be aware of in the OSB faction; 1. OSB 2. PARC 3. PKA. OSB
is simply the club that makes the schedule, rules, classes, marketing,
promotion, website, etc. PARC is a privately owned and operated kart
track, PKA is also a club that bases it's operations out of the publicly
owned "Mac Track". OSB "piggybacks" its liability insurance onto our
two tracks. If OSB was its own entity operating independently of PARC
and PKA, we'd have several thousand $$ in insurance premiums,
and another couple thousand for track rental fees (per race!). In order
to keep racing as cheap as possible, we've orchestrated this
arrangement with both PARC and PKA. With that background, you can
better understand why you might want to become a member of both PARC and
PKA in addition to your (free) OSB membership. .
